After working as an Art Director and International Design Manager for major corporations in Europe, Lionel founded his startup, SCHARLY DESIGNER STUDIO®, in 2007.
He served as an Adjunct Lecturer and Professor at a university in Paris, and directing theses at MIT.
Today, he contributes as a peer reviewer for the AIA Convention in the United States and a Lecturer in Architecture for The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Eco-Friendly Materials: He has developed and patented new technology to create the first eco-friendly and bio-plastic materials for the rotocasting process. This allows for a new design aesthetic while adhering to Green manufacturing and prototyping solutions.

Mr. Scharly is a valued member of the design community.
