Lionel Scharly, AIA
Architectural Designer living & working in New York City.
After several years working as Art Director and International Design Manager for big design companies in Europe, such as projects for DIOR, PEUGEOT, COCA-COLA, MICHELIN, ESTEE LAUDER, AIR FRANCE and in the Video Game Industry, Lionel created his startup, SCHARLY DESIGNER STUDIO® in 2007.
His public architecture, commercial, cultural, retail and residential projects focus heavily on the integration of the environment implementing groundbreaking technologies. Today he's also writes architectural criticisms for online magazines like Forbes, The Spruce, Real Homes, or innovation newspapers like DELL Technologies.  
Oriented towards Contemporary Architecture, Lionel designed projects for Public Architecture and Communities like ‘National Register Buildings / FEMA', Religious Buildings 'Renovation/Preservation' in New York State, Residential Homes in Catskills NY, Florida, Public Schools in California, Museums in Colorado, Animal Shelter and Museums in Georgia, Cultural Center in Chicago or exhibitions like The Velvet Underground Experience on Broadway in New York.
Lionel has been exhibited at the French Pavilion at the World’s Fair in 2010 in Shanghai "Better City, Better Life" and featured in 'Nouvelles Richesses / French Pavillon' during the 15th Biennale of Architecture of Venice for his Green Designs. He was also featured at the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, MoMa Shanghai, and Haus der Kulturen der Welt of Berlin for his success in innovation.  
During 10 years in Paris, Lionel  was an Adjunct Lecturer and Professor of a University.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects "AIA New York Chapter - Design Excellence", The Architectural League of New York, and USBGC.

Mr. Scharly is a valued member of the design community. He has made original contributions to the design world as a whole. 
Indeed he holds design patents for groundbreaking new materials, awards for breathtaking designs, and has published profiles that attest to these contributions in top industry publication. 
Further, he has been asked to lecture on the subject and judge the work of other designers because his knowledge is unparalleled and of the utmost importance to this industry.
Given this status in the field, we invited Mr. Scharly to join APCI. It is an honor to be a member of our organization. 
We only accept those prove to be leaders and original talents in the field and recognized by a commitee of experts. 
It is very important to our organization to create and facilitate a top association for designers to express themselves and build upon each other’s ideas.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of witnessing Mr. Scharly rise to the highest levels as an industrial and architectural designer. 
Mr. Scharly’s career has only continued to grow in recent years, and I do not see his success wavering anytime soon.
